Transition Intelligence is the Compass.
Pax Planetaria is our North Star.
We map planetary transformations.
We also build inside them.
We emerge from a simple observation:
The most consequential transformations in the Planetary Age do not fit neatly into existing institutions. In fact, they undermine them.
Yet no coherent field exists to understand the transformations unfolding across ecology, technology, power and intelligence.

Transition Intelligence exists to help build that field. We work between ground reality and long-horizon strategy. We combine strategic intelligence, field experimentation, private diplomacy and institutional innovation to help actors navigate transformations that rarely fit within a single discipline, sector or institution.

We seek to develop the intellectual and practical infrastructure needed to navigate disruptions and possibilities in the planetary age

We are a lightweight, internationally networked, nimble institute built for maximum flexibility and intellectual freedom.
What we produce is not commentary. It is architecture for a different kind of decision-making.

We do not chase headlines. We design for coherence over time.

We are ethically committed to to strategising for planetary humaneness, regeneration and dignity while keeping the pulse on realpolitik.

Our work operates through three interconnected domains.

Our Work Domains

Anthropolitik Lab
Where real politik meets strategic intelligence and foresight.

The Anthropolitik Lab develops frameworks, scenarios, foresight methods and strategic analysis that help governments, foundations, innovators, scientists and civil society actors understand transformations and their implications for the Planetary age.

Our work explores:

  • System-level analysis of ecological, technological and geopolitical change
  • Scenario planning, foresight and strategic navigation
  • Critical minerals and resource competition
  • Climate adaptation and ecological statecraft
  • AI, technology and planetary governance
  • Farsighting future security and political architectures

Action Labs
Where ideas meet the changing terrain.

Our Action Labs operate where planetary transformations become tangible.

These projects generate practical knowledge while testing new approaches to adaptation, cooperation, defense, diplomacy, policy and regeneration.

Current areas of inquiry include:

  • Planetary. Mining and ecological risks – Using novel scientific methods to assess whether certain places on the planet are too fragile or too critical to mine at all, and whether critical minerals can be governed as a global public good
  • Arid Areas. Pioneering complex regeneration – Fusing mediation practice with bioregional regeneration to build regional and geopolitical security.Exploring new financial mechanisms for landscape-scale water regeneration..
  • Polar Futures. Technological incursion. Tracking technological encroachment at the poles and protecting the space for collective adaptation.
  • European transformation. Europe’s fossils-based peace and security architectures must evolve under climate, technological and geostrategic pressure. We create the ideational space for the political, civic, private and cultural ambition to emerge, and we strategize with political, economic and civic actors to implement it.

Private Diplomacy & Innovation Labs
Where novel interdependencies shape the future.

We create trusted spaces in which actors who rarely work together can explore shared systems risks, test emerging forms of cooperation and build relationships before formal political systems are ready to move.

We connect governments, scientists, innovators, strategic industries, finance and civil society around problems whose solutions depend on new forms of interdependence.

We focus our efforts on constituencies (countries, regions, institutions, middle powers) committed to planetary habitability and geostrategic de-escalation.

  • Bringing new data and strategic insights into rooms where innovative alliances are being shaped.
  • Creating trusted spaces for cross-sector and cross-regional experimentation.
  • Connecting scientists, innovators, policymakers and strategic actors.
  • Prototyping new forms of coordination around shared planetary risks.
